Procedure would dictate they ask him about this sovereignty statement and what intentions he has. I'm sure they would remind him any lie he tells them while conducting their investigation is punishable by prison time.

You know how I like to deal with people like that? You ask 'em to clarify. He has to back down from his claim or he'd be talking some seriously treasonous talk.

Imagine you're dealing with a bully:

His secession talk will fizzle out quick if he wants anything from the Federal Government for his state besides the stimulus money. It's a case of dancing with those what brung you, as they say.
