It would be illegal...ILLEGAL to secede. Texas can break up into 5 states, but not secession. Again, that is illegal.
That point needs to be brought up.

I thought republicans were supposedly the more "patriotic"?
According to them, during the Bush years...Democrats were un-American for wanting to end the war?
Now, somehow, it's OK to advocate for secession, just because they lost an election?

It's OK for Perry to reject the money from the stimulus bill one day, and then the other day ask for federal help to clean up Galveston (which needs help desperately).
He can't have it both ways. How does he propose to protect the border without the US government?

If Perry wants to talk secession, then he needs to resign from his job as a governor of a STATE in the United States.
As a 5th generation Texan, I am offended by the Governor's remarks.
I am a proud American, and this kind of talk is dangerous, stupid and nutty.

And nothing is worse than when it is stupid and dangerous.
