Scripts the Oregon GOP is using in ads (They have gone off their meds)
I'm in the process of verifying that the GOP in Oregon is in the process of having these new PSA's/commercials made.

UPDATE I called the The Oregon Republican Party and was told that they had no comment.

I redacted the company letter head that the bids went out on. Check out these docs. They are a series of PSA's designed for Oregonians to be "Thankful" that the Republican Party has been so good for the country. They are even taking credit for ending racism in America.

The main question about these scripts is whether they were created by someone at the Oregon GOP, or at the Portland advertising agency that it came from. We'll be trying to find this out.

1. Thank you for giving us Junior and Lord Vader.
Thank you for the war in Iraq. Thank you for the worst economic catastrophe since the Great Depression.

2. Those are hilarious!
Unfortunately, even the accomplishments that they might take credit for are no longer valid, because unrelenting ideologues and fundamentalists have long since driven the once sensible, can-do Oregon Republicans from office.

3. The entire Republican Party
has lost their fucking minds. I have come to the conclusion that Limbaugh is directing their every action. He seems content with planting massive misinformation at every level. Apparently grass roots Republicans are the type that will believe anything.

4. We know that's a lie; how we need to attack it
We borrow the Repukes' ad and add a few things to it...

Republican line: "Thank you for ending slavery"
Democratic line: Show pictures of Jesse Helms, Strom Thurmond and other like-minded pukes

Republican line: "Thank you for giving women the right to vote."
Democratic line: Run that clip of Annthrax Coulter stating women should lose suffrage

Republican line: "Thank you for opening our state beaches to the public."
Democratic line: Show a picture of an eroded beach with a bunch of crap on it. "And thanks also for spending so much money on cutting rich people's taxes we can't afford to renourish this beach or hire anyone to pick up the trash on it, so in about twenty years there won't be a beach here anymore."

Republican line: "Thank you for lowering our taxes."
Democratic line: (on screen) "Ronald Reagan signed the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982, the largest tax increase in history. Thanks to him, you can't deduct non-mortgage interest anymore, which explains why people take out second mortgages to buy cars."

Republican line: "Thank you for helping me start my own business."
Democratic line: (Using an actor made up to look like the guy in the Repukes' ad) "And thank you for encouraging big companies to offshore their manufacturing and for encouraging Walmart to uncontrollably expand. Due to Republican policies I can no longer compete in the marketplace, and I'll be closing this business in a few weeks."

Republican line: "Thank you for passing the Civil Rights Act of 1964."
Democratic line: (on screen) "In 1964, the president was a Democrat, the House of Representatives had a 62.4 percent Democratic majority and the Senate had a two-thirds Democratic majority."

Republican line: "Thank you for making America the land of opportunity."
Democratic line: (Actor wearing a suit holding a passport and a plane ticket envelope with "Bombay" written across it in big letters) "And thank you for the tax policies that encouraged my company to send my computer programming job to India, making me move there if I want to keep it."

Anyone got a video camera?
