Couric asked Mr. Bush if this is a tacit acknowledgement that the way these detainees were handled was wrong.

"No. Not at all. It's a tacit acknowledgement that we're doing smart things to get information to protect the American people," the President said. "I've said to the people that we don't torture, and we don't."

4. Everything the former president told us was a lie of one kind or another.
Except, of course, the story of what happened on 9/11.

We should be grateful that the investigation into those attacks has cleared up any lingering doubts in sane people's minds. Right?

7. Depends on what you mean by "Lie".

As David Gergen pointed out (in defense of Bush's lies), if you believe your own lies, are they really lies?

I wouldn't believe anything from any Bush administration official on any topic including what happened on that fateful day.

5. Two and a half years later . . .
You think we'll have any follow up? Anyone asking questions based on what we indisputably know now to have been happening? Or would an investigation into the Bush administration's crimes against humanity be too "partisan" and "divisive"? After all, we need the permission of the accused to look into their criminal acts, right? And if the perpetrator says, "No, you can't investigate my actions," well then, the whole thing is over. Right?
