How are prices of plants in your town?

The usual spring pots of annuals and perennials are much more expensive this year than I can ever recall...

2. hell here in Detroit I can purchase an entire production plant for under one million!

3. Mine are the same as usual.. I don't think in FL they can get away with too

much monkey business. Its too warm and there are too many nurseries and farms to compete with the prices.

9. I hit the home depot here in Orlando

last weekend and some plants had really gone up in price. They had a gardenia plant trained as a tree for 68 bucks. Herbs and veggie plants were up from last year also. I have a lot started from seed but was looking for some heirloom tomatoes a bit bigger than my seedlings to get a head start.

my herb garden never dies.. Mostly I bought annuals... they don't seem to die out in the year either? I happened to be at the Home Depot when the man who supplies them from the nursery was down. Now, I know where he is.. I'm off to shop directly from him. LOL. I'm hoping to snag an orange tree this year. I'm trying to get one for $30.00. H.D. wants $70.00- $90.00 for a tree. Everyone in my family is now eyeing the garden.. waiting impatiently until we can get our tomatos, greens, etc. blueberries are just starting to turn.. nice treat while waiting.

. . . but prices for edible greens have gone up quite a bit here. A few months ago a large bunch of kale was 1.49 (organic). Now a tiny bunch is 2.00.

but seeds have been i short supply. I ordered as soon as my catalogs came in.

7. I'm growing mostly from seed this year, but I'll be going plant shopping next week...

so far from cruising the sales ads, they seem to be about 5-10% higher than last year. But this is the beginning of our season, so it's hard to tell yet.

11. Weed is really expensive!

But I stopped buying it when it hit $15.00 per oz. so I don't care.

13. Went to the Feed and Seed to get some seed potatoes

Last Year, they were 25 cents per pound. This Year the price is 40 cents.
