Now this is rich. All of a sudden, Sam Brownback is concerned about veterans!
Brownback says report slaps veterans

Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback and six Republican colleagues want an explanation for why a recent Homeland Security report linked "right-wing extremism" and combat veterans with domestic terrorism.

"This DHS report is insulting to American veterans and patently untrue," Brownback said in a statement. "American military veterans deserve the respect of a grateful nation, not suspicion and slander."

The report last week suggested that the economic crisis could trigger right-wing extremism.

Here's what it said: "The return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks."

Interesting that Sam's voting record doesn't show much concern for veterans. Most recently he opposed the Stimulus Bill, which contained money to HELP veterans.

I am going to projectile vomit if Sam becomes my next governor. And yes, I will take pictures. :)

1. they don't deserve to be recruited..
by Neo-Nazis either. Too bad the VA won't do anything to aid their transition back into society, so they wouldn't be vulnerable.

2. First Obama wanted veterans to use their insurance to pay for health care related to combat
injuries and now he classifies returning veterans as potential terrorist threats.

Looks like Obama is not endearing himself to veterans.

3. Actually he was trying to propose a way to coordinate benefits
which would have been called smart economics if Bush had proposed it.

And recent history tells us we do indeed have a reason to be concerned about angry people on the right (and yes, some are vets) with guns.

This is not an issue Obama needs to be criticized for.

4. Apparently you don't know that all major veterans groups opposed Obama's effort to stick wounded
veterans with part of the cost of caring for them.
