1. Tony Bennett long ago ascended to the status of national treasure
No Sinatra vs, Bennett flamewars, please, and I have the greatest respect for Sinatra's musicianship, but Tony is usually my first choice. Wanna know why? Check out "The Tony Bennett/Bill Evans Album." Just the most lyrical jazz pianist of all time and the greatest singer of standards doing what they do best. No accompaniment - not even bass and drums. No fancy production or overdubs. Just the genius of two virtuosos at work.

8. Bennett far superior, IMO. And doesn't seem to have the same
difficulties staying on key!

I adore him.

Andy Williams, I could live without.

4. Thanks for this
Two of my favorites - I never knew they performed together.

It brings back a lot memories for me as a kid watching them on TV with my parents.

5. Check out Tony's duets with k d laing
or his MTV Unplugged.

Tony's son took over his management, and they fear no crowd or venue - and he still does encores a capella, and in a good hall, UNAMPLIFIED. NO microphone. Take that, milli Vanilli!

9. Those two are magical together.
And I'm straight, but there's something about that woman... her voice is so haunting.

10. I think of that little tingle
as a continiuity check on my heart, make sure it's workin' OK - you know, a public service from the sisterhood.
