What a frustrating segment. Maybe there's some hidden game at play here, but I sure don't see it. Condoning torture or attempting to justify it is, IMHO, as bad as Lyddie England...it was, is and always will be illegal, period. If these actions aren't prosecuted or addressed, it then become "established" and future governments can and will torture...as well as giving the green light to others around the world to develop or expand all their "extraordinary" techniques. No parsing can justify this away.
