Poll question: Would The Torturers Go to Jail If They'd Been Smoking Joints?
Edited on Sat Apr-18-09 08:20 AM by MannyGoldstein
It's pretty clear that brutal torture is not considered to be a prosecutable crime. But what if the inquisitors had been smoking joints while breaking joints? Would that rise to the level of prosecutable crime?

4. And the DOJ had written a "torturously" detailed treatise telling them why it was legal for them to
so do.

No wonder John "Let The Eagle Soar" Ashcroft got the hell out of there. He had more integrity than most people credited him with.

2. They do what they want, when they want, and we pay for it
with our money or our lives.

That is the game.

5. We could save money if we would let the pot smokers toke
up and then jump out the window, like the people who invented the "War On Drugs" claim they all do. Then we wouldn't need to hire more bad cops, bad judges and more insane lawyers like the ones Bush made bad judges out of.

7. True. Although, having known a gazillion potheads throughout my life...
...and being one myself, it's been my experience that potheads usually aren't very keen on militarism and/or violence in general.

8. Isn't that shoplifting
Afterall, if they are smoking the product that they have kept illegal so they can sell it to fund these kinds of things, isn't that like an employee stealing from the store?

9. Chances are they could rape a co-worker while torturing and still not be prosecuted.
