Two guesses:

1) They tacked on the Star of David (as an afterthought) because they forgot baby Jesus won't come until the temple gets built. Blatant bigotry towards other religions, atheists and agnostics.

2) They were referring to the Jews directly.

Is that Christian? I confess my ignorance on this. The morans like to say we were founded as a Christian nation. We know that the founders wanted to keep religion out of government. If the morans are referring the "faith of our fathers" they'd be talking deism. No point in bringing this up to them though, their heads would explode.

when I told my bio family that our dna shows we are ashkenazi, (after yrs of christianity/catholicism), some of them took it on as tho they were now christians with jewish heritage, ergo, they are now jewish christians..wtf..and that makes them more chosen ...or some such crap..I shouldnt have told them..

and yes, you cannot point it out to them that the word christian is not found in the bill of rights or the constitution..

16. My sister is into the "End Times" thing
and goes to Israel every couple of years. Her church has the "Jews for Jesus" come every year and she looks forward to it. She's out there. And, here's a surprise, she loves Sarah Palin.

19. I followed that whole meme VERY closely during the run up to 2000
it was a madhouse in Israel...end timers converging with cameras and equipment and camping out on the Hill of Megiddo so they could 'catch' on film the furious end times fight between jesus and the devil. I think Israel, as I recall, has a special mental health ward open to westerners who come there and believe they are holy people.

I think a lot of Israel's tourism must be the end times groups that visit every year. I have this feeling that they think that if they are in Israel a lot, than God will notice it and when jesus comes back he will swoop them up. On the other hand, its illegal to prostlytize in Israel, so they must get really frustrated that they cant save all the jews...

25. right. the word 'creator' can mean anything
thats what a lot of them bring up..they cannot imagine that there have been hundreds of thousands of definitions of 'creator' in human history, and mythologies that are so many you cannot begin to read them all..
you actually have to READ and educate yourself to grasp the concept. I dont think a lot of people do.

Jefferson was a Deist as was Ben Franklin. I believe a couple of other signers of the Declaration were Deists too.

31. Here is a link to the signers and their religious affiliations. There are a few that
they don't have the info on. Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Francis Lightfoot Lee and James Wilson were Deists.
John Adams was a Unitarian.

Washington who wasn't a signer supposedly claimed at different parts of his life to be a Deist or Anglican.
