GOP tries to fan 'tea party' flames

Congressional Republicans Saturday, trying to seize on whatever hype or hope that came from last week's "tea parties," tried to tarnish President Obama and congressional Democrats for "tax and spend" policies.

snip//

McCarthy said he had seen the anti-tax, anti-Obama "tea parties," and he came away feeling that "the message was heard loud and clear."

“It’s irresponsible to borrow more than all previous American presidents combined," McCarthy said. "And it must stop if we want to get our economy moving again."

While most analysts agree that the Republican Party is floundering as it searches for a new identity after two terms of President George W. Bush, McCarthy said the current congressional Republican minority is "leading the way with solutions to provide a new direction."
:eyes:

“In this time of economic crisis and financial instability, Republicans are reaching out to the president and Washington Democrats to find solutions to solve our country’s problems," McCarthy said. "We have incredible challenges before all of us, and we ask all Americans to join us in working together for better solutions. Because it’s not just our future…it’s all of our children’s future."

1. These people are so out of touch......
What the hell are they going to give their children besides debt and tax cuts for the rich? They aren't looking after the group I call the disposable people, they're not looking after the middle class. Who are they looking after? Themselves. Period.

4. The teabaggers aren't even looking after themselves.
They're mindlessly following their 'leaders', like anyone on faux, Rush, etc. There's no independent thought involved that I can see. It's whacked!

2. Losers.
"New ideas" like reducing taxes on the wealthy, expressed by running around wearing colonial outfits draped with teabags and ranting about fascism and secession. Yeah, that'll work.

Yes, indeed. George W. Bush was irresponsible because he ran up deficits in times of growth, not while the economy was shrinking and demanded increased federal spending.

How quickly they forget. Hypocrites!

5. "Republicans are reaching out"
     Reaching out to who? The Socialist Obama? The Fascist Obama? The Obama who is giving away our Sovereignty? The Obama who has ruined the entire economy in 10 weeks?
Reaching out for more tea bags is more like it.

6. Republicans don't know how to lead
after all the time they had to do great things they instead sat around thinking of new ways to hurt people and give more to themselves. And yeah, "it’s not just our future…it’s all of our children’s future." This is exactly why republican war mongers need never have power again.
