1. That poll is useless...
Post Poll - Health Care
The U.S. Senate is supposed to begin working on major federal health care legislation this week. Are you optimistic that Congress can arrive at a workable solution to the issue?
Yes
No
I'm not sure

How is this meaningful?

2. I agree...
what is it supposed to say or tell anyone. The question is useless and so are the responses.

What might constitute a workable solution? I guess that depends on whether you are an insurance company that wants to continue their death by spreadsheet policy or whether you are a citizen dying from lack of health care.

3. Our 'representatives' need some DU love
Now is the Time: DEMAND Not-For-Profit Health Care!

TAKE ACTION NOW: Before Wednesday, April 22

House Ways and Means Chairman Charles B. Rangel (D-NY) announced that the Committee will hold another hearing in a series on reforming the health insurance market.

The hearing will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, and will focus on strategies to reform the health insurance market to ensure greater accessibility and affordability
Healthcare-NOW! and allied organizations have been requesting fair hearings that include the single-payer

Help us make sure that Chairman Rangel hears us loud and clear. Call his office now (toll free at 866-338-1015) to request they invite expert single-payer witnesses to testify.

If you can't call, you can easily email him here.
https://forms.house.gov/rangel/forms/contact.shtml

To date, single-payer is the only reform that will cover everyone and contain healthcare costs. Anything less will not achieve these goals.

6. They can, but I predict that they won't.
There are already viable options on the table; HR 676 and something that Sanders introduced in the Senate.

I'm predicting that Congress will not have the courage or integrity to pass either of those; that it will be some version of pandering to for-profit insurance that we end up with.

7. More important than the vote are the stupid comments.
The majority are banging the old "healthcare in Canada is bad" drum.
