Palin filmmaker detained by police at Couric award ceremony
http://rawstory.com/blog/2009/04/palin-filmmaker-arrested-at-couric-award-ceremony/

The documentary filmmaker who recently called it "an outrage" that Katie Couric was receiving the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Journalism for her interview last September with Sarah Palin was detained by police outside the award ceremony on Wednesday.

Ziegler, who is working on a film blaming the defeat of the McCain-Palin ticket on the media, believes that Couric deliberately set out to create a negative impression of Palin and that she is being "rewarded for the political outcome of the interview."

1. So, when FOX influences elections, that's good. When CBS does it, that's bad?
Is that this dolt's thesis?

11. Couric receiving ANY award with Cronkite's name on it gives me the willies
Katie got lucky. She got damn lucky when she landed the Palin gig. Doesn't mean that she's an accomplished journalist - I still see her as little more than a glorified morning talk-show host.

Of course, that would also speak volumes of how well this reflects on Slappy the Dodo Bird and how badly she got owned in that Couric interview.

12. Ziegler is a clown
U.S.C. is a private institution, not a public one. You can't just start filming there. The same thing would happen to Ziegler if he started filming at Pepperdine University in Malibu, another private institution (which is "Christian"). Pepperdine would throw him off, as it, too, is private property. Ziegler is an idiot not to know this. But then, a real journalist would know that, right?

Apparently Ziegler was NOT recognized media, was NOT in the designated media area and was accosting people entering the Walter Conkrite Media Awards. They should have arrested him for tresspassing - he was NOT invited to this invitational event.
