Torture IS Terrorism.
The use of torture and subsequent reporting of it (by the tortured) back to the general population is, by definition, terrorism. It is terrorism in its purest form.

1. I don't see how anyone can argue against your point
but I'm sure some will try.

2. I thought torture, was, well, torture

And terrorism was terrorism.

If a torturer tortures someone in the woods, and nobody hears it, is it terrorism?

Is what the Weather Underground did an equivalent moral wrong as torture?

Should an eco-terrorist (attacks wealth/property to save the environment) be subjected to the same penalty as an eco-terrorist (someone who tortures humans to save the environment)?

Can torture be permissible under any circumstance? Can terrorism be permissible under any circumstance? Are they really the same thing, or do you just dislike both?

3. Exactly -- and we also have to be looking at our own runaway prison system . . .
and suggestions that we are torturning prisoners.

Meanwhile, like domestic wiretapping, what would prevent any government now

simply "deciding" to torture Americans?

Torture is a message to ordinary people -- intended to intimidate them in regard

to police power.
