Poll question: Will Holder Prosecute Torture?
I have been looking at what Holder has said. I think what he is saying and doing is more telling than what President Obama and Rahm Emmanuel have said.

The ball is in Holder's court. He said that before he takes any actions, he tests two criteria:

1-Will it stand up to Constitutional scrutiny?

2-Will it stand up to scrutiny from the American People?

He also spoke of the importance of transparency and the importance of some things taking place behind closed doors. I am under the impression that Holder is looking at ever angle of the case. He knows that cases can be won or lost on one misplaced word or one unanticipated legal defense.

The release of the first round of memos(and I do expect more) prove he is on the case. He is establishing a timeline and a method. If he is to prosecute, he wants to know he will win. If he can find one person using one tactic that outside the DoJ's sanctioning, he has a starting point. One indictment could blow the case up significantly.

The question is: Do You Think AG Eric Holder Prosecute Torture?

1. Depends upon the will of the American people.
It is up to us, not Obama, to make this choice.

2. On the AG Spectrum, he's a lot closer to Alberto than RFK
I didnt say he WAS Alberto Gonzales, but closer to Alby than RFK along the spectrum.
So, no. He wont be doing the things he should in office.

4. Voted no
Holder is way too smart to make this center stage. Yes, the base likes the idea of seeing Bush and Cheney frog-marched through the streets to be handed over to the Hague, but the folks in the mushy middle would just like to forget about this.

That's why they voted for President Obama with us, they thought it was pushing the "reset" button. If we serve up the same drama that the Repukes did a dozen years ago with impeachment, they'll be uncomfortable, and will take it out on us in the next couple of elections.

President Obama and Eric Holder are way too smart to let that happen. They'll release information, and let history be the judge of Bushco.

5. I predict the trial will be remanded to the court of public opinion
there it will have an ambivalent result. This will allow both sides to claim victory. Most importantly for the ruling elite, who conspired to organize the crimes, there will be no punishment.

Afterall, the lesson is simple. This is the United States and this is how we deal with high crimes by persons in high places.

6. No, but we will continue to fill the jails with drug criminals.
It is a question of priorities.
