1. She's said similar things about Coulter and Ingram - she's definitely refreshing!

4. She's their future...whether it be in 4 years or 40.
That's all up to them and how fast the old Reaganite Neocon farts can either go away or die off.

5. It used to be that Republicans were for...
Lower taxes; fiscal responsibility; less government interference in our lives, and things of this nature. I hope they find their roots again. This, from a young Republican, is a good sign, methinks. Rove is creepy. Cheney is creepy too.

13. She may be the core of a new GOP.
As much as I'm a huge Democrat, and as much as I'm disgusted with the GOP in general, I recognize that the U.S. can't function for very long as a one-party government dominated by Democrats. We will get cocky, lose touch with the people and our ideals, and end up with our heads up our asses.

We need competition.

So if Meghan McCain and others like her can transform the GOP from the near-fascist, schizophrenic extremist party that it is now to a party that is more rational, in touch, and yes, further to the left (or at least the middle), then more power to her.

Don't get me wrong, I still won't vote for them...

18. I doubt she can change the fundamentalist/evangelical haters and the knuckle-
dragging creationists and bigoted red state conservatives. I would say that the party is using her to try to enlist some of the young Ron Paul supporters and to try to appeal to youth in general. She is still a republican.

14. The one good thing McCain ever did...
he raised a daughter who can think for herself.

Honestly, as a parent that's pretty much my goal--that my kids think for themselves and take care of the planet.

15. If the Meghan McCain types ran the Republican party
All the DLC'ers and BlueBalls could go back to their own party (even though some of them are probably too right wing for her)and we could get back to being Democrats again.

So I encourage Meghan in her efforts. As for being attracted to her.... blonde Republicans from Arizona.... been there, done that. Burned the T-shirts.

16. Bahhh. She's a fucking tool being used to resurrect a dead party and make it look cool.
They are using her to disavow the assholes that are making them lose in public opinion polls and get a fresh face on the party. I betcha, most of those assholes are the ones engineering this shit. Yeah, when she starts talking about Universal Health Care, you'll know she is turning over a new leaf. In the meantime, this is a PR campaign and she is still a Republican operative operating effectively.

21. No, its just meaningless
The same lunatics will be in charge of the party. They will just have a better public relations manager and lay low for a bit. I'm not sure how people can get caught up in these shallow maneuvers.

30. I'm not gullible but I don't buy the 'tool' idea
They wouldn't be using her to attack members of her own party. She used to be an independent but registered as republican on father's day during the election year. I think the opinions of hers, it wouldn't make sense to use someone to attack members of their own party and they wouldn't be enganging in media wars against her. You'd think they'd have her back knowing she just saying those things because someone else is somehow making her say these things.

19. If the Republicans were only wrong
rather than completely bat shit crazy I would feel better. The idea of one of these monsters of the right, with their Christian Taliban minions marching dead-eyed to vote against our rights like zombies from a bad B movie, ever sitting in the White House again is beyond repulsive.

At least Republicans like Megan McCain are only wrong about a lot of issues.

she is a pretty face, thats about it. Imagine if Paris Hilton or Britney Spears talked politics, thats Meghan McCain right now. With that said she is the most sensible sounding republican out there.

31. Gwaaaak! Take a shower, see a movie. Something!

She's just the newest rethug fishing angle for voters. The girl doesn't have a clue any more than Dad does what the economy is about.

Just because she hates on Coulter or Rove, doesn't mean she's not sleeping with them on the side. And what, because they made comments about her bod, that makes her a poor puppy to be saved? Yucko!

Keep in mind she is still a republican and they are very deceitful, and nothing but a bunch of hypocrites. I'm willing to bet behind the scenes the Repukes are just using her to better their horrible image and trying to draw in a younger crowd. There is absolutely nothing to love about that party, yes Karl Rove is creepy, a lot of us here have been saying that for years.

33. They totally know that saving puppies is what dems are all about.

And some are. Can't see that it's just another half-assed ploy to pit Coulter, et al.. against the little good one who's being soooo maligned in the press for her body size. The kind people will give her a shot. It's all PR, a teevee show. Again, gwaakkk!!!!
