1. As a video gamer I have never once heard of any game endorsing torture.
Seriously. I don't like the Republican light issue of "Video Games are bad for our kids"...it's a dead issue. It's not even partially correct and smacks of ignorance.

I've been playing for 25-30 years and am a pacifist. Sorry, n2doc but that one has not an iota of truth or personal experience in it!

2. Not sure what the "artist" is trying to say there...
I am also a huge gamer, as are my kids. That looks like a shot at games but it could be the artist was trying to say these guys all think they are playing a game or living in a movie.

3. I think it's a good cartoon, because we don't know the message
It's interesting how many ways that toon can be interpreted.

Another way is the Limbaugh way, to trivialize the torture by comparing it to fraternity pranks.

6. From the Wiki article on Grand Theft Auto III:
"Asuka emerges and proceeds to torture and interrogate Miguel."

at one point she ties up Maria and plays sadomasochistic games with her. She states that torturing Miguel is a little for her own pleasure.

8. That's an edorsement? Sounds like a cutscene involving baddies torturing people.

No gameplay involved...you press no buttons. Just like a movie clip showing an villian roughing up or torturing an innocent to prove their badness...it is not a endorsement of torture. Just a few PG-13 Rated S&M-esque scenes. Rockstar just pushes the envelope to shock the senses.
