Anyone watching Isikoff on CSpan - they showed tape of Cheney saying Al Queda was

"a small relatively unknown group at the time of 911".

Isikoff went ballistic on it and wondered that Cheney needs a fact checker - "Cheney says some of the most amazing things".

When will people get it - Cheney is a big fat liar! He is a propagandist!

On edit, I am now thinking Obama is indeed playing chess - and that he released the torture memos to create the firestorm that is now aflame - and world and public pressure and outrage will aid in bringing those who did this to justice at last.

1. Thanks. Caller: "My government is completely corrupt."
No one prosecuted for 911, lies about Iraq, bank scandal...on and on.

2. As I said, the shitstorm is beginning. Will it lead to prosecution? Great call, that was.

4. Richard Clarke knew the danger of Al Qaeda
When it came to al Qaeda, Clarke was without doubt the most worried of Clinton’s staff and when he was retained by the new administration, soon discovered that his sense of urgency was marginalised:

“On January 24th of 2001, I wrote a memo to Condoleezza Rice asking for, urgently – underlined urgently – a cabinet level meeting to deal with the impending al Qaeda attack and that urgent memo wasn't acted on.”

Instead he was asked to attend a meeting of the deputies, rather than the chiefs; and even that was put off until April:

“I began saying, 'We have to deal with bin Laden. We have to deal with al Qaeda.' Paul Wolfowitz the Deputy Sec'y of Defense said, 'No, no, no. We don't have to deal with al Qaeda. Why are we talking about that little guy? We have to talk about Iraqi terrorism against the United States.' And I said, 'Paul, there hasn't been any Iraqi terrorism against the United States in eight years,' and I turned to the Deputy Director of CIA and said, 'Isn't that right?' and he said, 'Yeah, that's right.’”

5. There was a book on the oval office desk when they took over
The Hart-Rudman Report that was a couple years in the making and dealt entirely with Al Qaeda. Any bets on whether either Cheney or Bush* read that study. Cheney was put in charge of anti terrorism and held exactly zero meetings before 9-11. They may have been unknown to Cheney but Clinton told Bush* that terrorism would be their biggest concern over the years and then Bush* and Cheney decided to build Star Wars Defense...

7. We can only hope your edit is correct however Isikoff said that he
thinks investigations leading to prosecution are unlikely. I found that statement to be almost as amazing as the idiocracy coming from Cheny's lips.
