Freddie Mac Exec Found Dead At Home
David Kellermann, Acting Chief Financial Officer Of Embattled Mortgage Company, Committed Suicide

(WUSA) David Kellermann, acting Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Freddie Mac, was found dead Wednesday morning.

Fairfax County Police officials tell CBS affiliate WUSA-TV they responded to his home around 5 a.m. after his wife alerted them to his suicide.

Kellermann was 41 years old.

According to Freddie Mac's Web site, Kellermann was with Freddie Mac for more than 16 years and named Acting Chief Financial Officer in September.

'The Federal Housing Finance Agency says about 3500 workers at Fannie were scheduled to receive an average payment of $32,000 and 4000 employees at Freddie were slotted to receive an average of $24,000. The maximum bonus will be $1.5 million.

In New York, a bonus is paid to top performers. But that’s apparently not how it’s done in Washington, where about 80% of Freddie’s employees will receive a bonus and about 61% of Fannie’s employees will be rewarded with cash. Perhaps in Washington, bonus money is awarded with an egalitarian twist.

13. I'm with you on this. We don't know if he was clinically depressed, for one thing.

I have seen how depression can work and it's insidious. It's also often hidden and not talked about. If he had bipolar disorder and was not taking his meds it could very well have been his chosen way "out."

We just don't know yet and maybe never will...
