6. The second cartoon explains one of the problems facing us.

If any investigation/prosecution of the torturers is perceived as tit for tat, then we've lost the battle. If people think Obama is going after Bush on torture only because the Republicans went after Clinton on sex, the entire issue is trivialized. I think Obama has to teach the American people to be angry and disgusted by what happened before anything else happens.

Go ahead, hold a trial. If the evidence warrants impeachment, fine do it. There are clear crimes involved here and putting them on the bright stage of a trial would bring them out and force people to see what their elected officals have done. Frankly, with the exception of Carter, all our recent previous presidents since Nixon have merited impeachment.



Reagan- Iran Contra, central american death squad support

Bush I- Iran Contra, support for Saddam's gassing his people,

Clinton- Covering up for Bush I's crimes.

Bush II- Crimes too numerous to mention.

Not that all would be convicted, but the trial would have been the critical thing. Trivialities like Clinton's sexcapades would fall out in the process.
