April 21: A teacher in small-town Indiana has devised a "Boomerang Backpack" program to make sure kids from low-income families who eat subsidized school meals during the week don't go hungry on the weekends. NBC's John Yang reports.

2. we filled up 6 pallets of backpacks at the food bank last month..

a group of us from work volunteer at the food bank once a month. last month they had us working on these backpacks. if you've never done any food banking you should give it a try. it's very fulfilling!
