3. IF they kept any records (and that's a really huge "if"), I am quite sure
they have been shredded/deleted/hard drives smashed and sent to Davey Jones' Locker long since.

12. It was an electrical fire that wasn't near any documents of any sort.
If there were going to use it as a pretext to destroy documents, wouldn't they then say that some documents were lost in the fire? It seems silly to shred documents, then set a fire, then assure everyone the fire wasn't remotely near any documents.

23. Hey, maybe they lied when they said the fire wasn't near any documents.
Maybe tons of documents went up in the blaze. It's not like we could believe anything they say.

27. To what end?
Why wouldn't they just shred them? That's a lot safer than setting a fire, hoping it burns some documents, and then lying about it. I mean, by specifically saying that the fire was nowhere near any documents, they've made it so they can't use that as an excuse if someone were to later ask for those documents.

CHENEY ENERGY TASK FORCE DOCUMENTS FEATURE MAP OF IRAQI OILFIELDS

Commerce & State Department Reports to Task Force Detail Oilfield & Gas Projects, Contracts & Exploration

Saudi Arabian & UAE Oil Facilities Profiled As Well

(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption and abuse, said today that documents turned over by the Commerce Department, under court order as a result of Judicial Watch’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit concerning the activities of the Cheney Energy Task Force, contain a map of Iraqi oilfields, pipelines, refineries and terminals, as well as 2 charts detailing Iraqi oil and gas projects, and “Foreign Suitors for Iraqi Oilfield Contracts.” The documents, which are dated March 2001, are available on the Internet at: www.JudicialWatch.org.

The Saudi Arabian and United Arab Emirates (UAE) documents likewise feature a map of each country’s oilfields, pipelines, refineries and tanker terminals. There are supporting charts with details of the major oil and gas development projects in each country that provide information on the projects, costs, capacity, oil company and status or completion date.

Judicial Watch has been seeking these documents under FOIA since April 19, 2001. Judicial Watch was forced to file a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia (Judicial Watch Inc. v. Department of Energy, et al., Civil Action No. 01-0981) when the government failed to comply with the provisions of the FOIA law. U.S. District Court Judge Paul J. Friedman ordered the government to produce the documents on March 5, 2002.

The documents were produced in response to Judicial Watch’s on-going efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in government on behalf of the American people. Judicial Watch aggressively pursues those goals by making FOIA requests and seeking access to public information concerning government operations. When the government fails to abide by these “sunshine laws” Judicial Watch files lawsuits in order to obtain the requested information and to hold responsible government officials accountable.

“These documents show the importance of the Energy Task Force and why its operations should be open to the public,” stated Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

Never too late to connect more dots. Besides, he says he wants papers released..
Though of course, they never were his property.
I think they are probably 'gone' at this point.

Secret Work at Cheney’s House Rattles Neighbors
December 09, 2002 in print edition A-15

Neighbors of Vice President Dick Cheney are being shaken and rattled at least once a day by mysterious blasts at the U.S. Naval Observatory where Cheney lives.

The Navy says the explosions are part of a construction project that has been going on for several months, but won’t say more because the project is classified.

Navy spokeswoman Cate Mueller described the work as an “infrastructure improvement, a utility upgrade.”
She said they have tried to reassure the neighborhood – which includes the Washington residence of former President Clinton and his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) – that the blasts will not damage their homes. She said most understand that, because of national security concerns, they can’t reveal details or confine the construction to a 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule.

Joseph Rieser, who lives half a block off Observatory Circle, said each blast was “almost like thunder because it rolls and it lasts a noticeable period, probably several seconds.” He said the explosions rattle windows that aren’t shut tight.

She said the construction is expected to last eight more months, and for the time being there will be one or two blasts a day, each lasting about three to five seconds.

30. You know, the meeting(s) BEFORE 9/11 where the Texas petroleum mafia divies up Iraq?
Edited on Thu Apr-23-09 11:16 AM by Raster
The meeting(s) before 9/11 where controlling cheap Iraqi oil figures prominently in U.S. national energy policy? The meeting(s) BEFORE 9/11 where they had maps and charts showing which petroleum giant would control which Iraqi drilling location.

"...so how are we coming on our new Pearl Harbor, Dick?" "Very good, gentlemen. You're gonna love this... 15 Saudis with boxcutters walk into an airport..."

40. My guess? Not unless you have a time machine
Burned, shredded, erased, dissolved, recycled, i.e. GONE.

Cheney sort of expanded on the fifth amendment.

The Dick Cheney Fifth Amendment: not only shall no person be required to incriminate themselves, but they also retain the right to thoroughly destroy any and all evidence (including people) of wrongdoing that might lead to their conviction. This will be upheld by Supreme Court "Justices" Alito, Roberts, Thomas and Scalia (Kennedy is a definite maybe).

As for the rest of us, we'll have to make do the old-fashioned fifth amendment as adopted in 1787.
