Allen Andrade GUILTY of murdering Angie Zapata, sentenced to life!!!
Edited on Wed Apr-22-09 05:55 PM by backscatter712
Yay! Colorado does sometimes earn its reputation as the "Hate State", but NOT TODAY!!!

Allen Andrade was found guilty of first degree murder and bias crime for murdering Angie Zapata with a fire extinguisher, after he found out that Angie was biologically male.

Also today, he was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the crime of first degree murder. He's still awaiting sentencing for the bias crime conviction.

See ya in Canon City!!! He gets to go away. Permanently.

Definitely a victory for the GLBT community and supporters!

1. On top of LWOP, he got three years for the bias crime......
So, when he dies, do they hang him on a gibbet for three years?

3. Works for me.

I'm hearing on the radio that other crimes of his will add sixty years to his life sentence.

This is done because the prosecutors want to make sure this scumbag stays in prison for the rest of his life, even if he or his lawyers find a way to overturn a conviction or two based on technicalities.

That's why serial killers get multiple life sentences, or get 265 years. To make sure he goes away permanently.

And hey, hanging his corpse in a gibbet after he finishes his first life sentence, so he can serve more time up there seems like good plan.

Didn't this trial begin last week?

6. The jury only deliberated for two hours.
They didn't buy the defense's homophobic dog-whistling, repeatedly calling Angie "Justin" and accusing her of lying about her gender - the jury convicted on all counts, and the judge threw the book at Andrade!

I'm proud of my state today!

7. That was quick.......
Justice was serve, which is great. Has anyone thought about him? I believe his reactions, which I don't agree were the right ones, were because Angie, being a man in reality did oral sex on him? How disgusting he felt by it? Maybe he was abuse when he was a child and reacted to that? Not everybody lets keep in mind that agrees on changing your sex and being gay or bi. We need to learn how to be open minded. We need have to look at both sides, not just one. Angie Zapata rest in peace. Allen I am sorry you have to go life in prison, but justice is justice and you took away an innocent life. :dilemma:
