Condi Rice is getting tossed overboard?
Usually Foxnews.com headlines the GOP rebuttal to any news that benefits Dems. On the day Obama releases the torture memos, Fox went instead with Hayden's complaints about Obama.

But today, they are going with "WaterOrder" - Condi Rice gave the green light to the CIA to waterboard top Al Qaeda terrorist Abu Zubaydah.

For those who keep track of such things, its very unusual for Fox to lead with any headline that states as fact that a Republican did anything that could be seen as wrong.

Are they tossing Condi overboard? If so, I wonder who in that leaderless party made the decision.

1. She's said a few "nice things" about Obama ....
and undoubtedly voted for him---- ammunition enough for the RW racist, misogynist crowd to hang her high....

Not that I have much sympathy for her, mind you.... But when a pack of rabid jackals goes after each other, who do you "root" for?

I wouldn't make such an assumption...

20. She all but said she did, and had tears of joy on election night.
If she didn't vote for him, she was sure proud that he won.

Are you saying that the GOP is eating their own? I hope it's a gluttonous soiree.

10. I wonder if George is taking care of him.
Gonzo really showed his ignorance and inability to do a good job while he was AG. He should be disbarred. At best he has a really poor memory, at worst he's a corrupt liar.

He certainly should never have a job in the legal field again. In fact, he should be doing time behind bars for his contributions to the Bushco years.

8. she was never "on board"
she's both female, black and not from the right sort of family. Totally expendable. Always keep a few of those around--a little slice to take your picture with in good times and a convenient hunk of meat to throw to the wolves in leaner times.

33. More proof that Bush was nothing more than an utterly powerless puppet -
how close her relationship with Bush was, is completely irrelevant with regards to those who were REALLY running the show.

although it is certainly a racist move to toss the token black female under the bus. Condaleeza made her bed (with W) now let her wallow in it.

Answer Rove

The sharks smell blood and torturing people so they link Iraq w/ 9/11 to start a
war is damning ..... Rove knows this and is willing to throw condi under the bus.

Although once you have a fair vote his IQ drops a number of points.

14. More Circular Firing Squad
The rushpublicans are spinning and firing at the same time. It's because they know they're trying to defend the indefensible.

This isn't the first time this issue came forward (despite what the corporate media spews)...when reports came forward of the torture...going back to Abu Grahb in 2005...the right wing noise machine, the Mighty Wurlitzer, was able to beat the story down and dominate the issue. They claimed "we don't torture" and the corporate media said "OK"...and moved along. The only real further investigations and discussions were on the blogs and a select intrepid journalists. Dana Priest wins a Pulitzer and you still rarely see her on the cables. The corporate media was sold..."we didn't torture".

Now that dirty lie is beginning to crumble. The mountain of evidence that was hidden away until January 20th is starting to come forward and the Mighty Wurlitzer had been cranked up again, but this time doesn't have the same volume it once had. The "brush off" spins of cheeeney..."we kept the country safe" or parsing what "is is" regarding the techniques or the vague blurbs of "how it worked" aren't taking hold. People aren't moving along...so a scapegoat is gonna be needed.

We've already seen Powell tossed under the bus and it would be no surprise to see Condi follow. She was always the doormat...the enabler...the aparachnik...and fits the role easy. She also wasn't part of the "boys club"...thus more reason to try to put the blame on her. But this is how all criminal enterprises can and do unravel...one rat at a time.

28. They're trying to push Bush off that bus, too.
During the few minutes of "Morning Joke" that I could stomach this AM, Joke and his minions were claiming that Bush is ultimately responsible, since he was President--even though he was not even present when those torture memos were issued. They all but let Cheney off their hook, even though it's becoming more and more apparent that he is probably the ultimate instigator here.

30. That's To Be Expected...
Or at least I think so...and have for a long time. The old saying is that victory has many, but defeat is an orphan. Someone had to be the scapegoat for losing since the rushpublicans claim "conservatives didn't lose"...that booooshie really wasn't one nor McCain. We saw boooshie pushed under the bus all last year as the GOOPers saw their polls crashing and saw Mr. 33% as the reason. It got to the point that many were running against boooshie...look at how many came out against the bail-outs after years of passing pork-laden and defecit busting budgets. All of a sudden they got "fiscal" religion...yeah, right.

24. Condi
I often wonder if 9-11 would have been prevented if America had a competent National Security Adviser at the time?

Every time I hear; "No one could have envisioned using planes as missiles" from Condi, my gut wrenches. The scope of Condi's incompetence is spectacular. that she got to keep her job and then get promoted to SOS is even more remarkable!

That's the one that sets me off too. Rice was a hero in my family for a short time. It made family gatherings a little rough. Because I NEVER let that one go unchallenged. Maybe she thinks we are stupid.

Just watch. By the end of Friday, Condi will have been blamed for conceiving, planning, pushing, implementing and covering up torture.

They have their target. Condi is now officially "expendable".

37. She appears to me to be a friendless entity. She may have no friends, and
from her public conduct, I see no evidence that she SHOULD have any.

Her tenure in the two positions she held in the Bush administration suggest to me a comprehensive failure.

She was a woman long past her time of usefulness, as she was a Cold War Russia "expert."

And she was a pseudo-professional in over her head.
