2. Why - what happened ?

As far as I'm aware they were abandoned by the country crowd a while back for whatever reason and they stoped doing anything resembling American Old Time prior to that. They just don't seem to fit in anywhere at present.

and nobody much said anything. They were one of the few people with a following who said squat at the beginning of the Iraq war. They nailed GWB back then.
