3. Reality is so different
I was watching that movie last weekend. The similarities struck me. He does come off as a Cheney kinda character. What depressed me is that this guy is hauled off to jail when he makes his admission. In reality, Cheney is "hauled off" to Fox News.

5. Well, the character of COL Jessup could pass the USMC PT test!
In real life, Mister Nicholson probably couldn't run around the block without wheezing, so in that way, and that way alone, he's probably a bit like Deadeye Dick.....

6. But the point of the movie is that justice is done no matter who you are, Colonel or not.
In the end, Jesup is held accountable for the crime.

8. That is certainly the implication, BUT
but the movie ends with the marine Jag officer heading out to arrest him ... but did he get convicted? ... there's always a sequel.

9. Accountable for the crime? Yes, but it is a MOVIE. Real life? Not so much.
cheney does rely heavily on fiction, but he also knows that in real life, the bad guy does not always face the music. He seems to be a betting man. The house needs to take him down.
