Who really owns Congress, Part 2
gotta love this, esp. if you are a history buff.

Look at this political geneology....going back to 1700's...

"These 643 family groupings each have three or more politician members, all linked together by blood, marriage or adoption. "

Here is the list of names:
http://politicalgraveyard.com/families/index.html

and here is the page of the Bush family :

http://politicalgraveyard.com/families/10392.html

btw....this site is fantastic but very easy to get lost in for days.....

1. Nice
I saw some stuff like this on the news during the election. Even Obama has a few presidents in his family tree. I think he;s also a distant cousin to Cheney and Bush. I think the tops of all these families have a lot of power.

2. And what do many of these names have in common?

(among other things...from skimming the list for a minute I've recognized some names...)

Membership in the Pilgrims Society. You know, the people that brought us Empire :-)Gotta love them.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilgrims_Society

Joël van der Reijden has written an article about the political impact of the Pilgrims Society that is highly respected even among us in the republic of letters.

http://www.isgp.eu/organisations/Pilgrims_Society02.htm

There's a membership list there if anyone has the time I'd love to know how many of those 643 names turn up there...

Sorry if this is off topic... I'm going to have a deeper look at your links now!
