Repug Sen. Johnny Isakson said US has best health care system in the world

he said this on Wash. Journal this a.m.

a caller informed him that the truth of it was that the US was on the bottom of any listing and that our infant mortality rate was also on the bottom of any list. all true.

he then said that he meant our nurses, drs., workers are the best in the world. his one and one is not making two.

and he is all in a snit because they are cancelling the building of his most favorite fighter plane. he thinks our safety lies with this plane. perhaps its his pocketbook that needs this plane.

3. I think our safety only lies with the fighter plane because it was to be built in his state.

5. Too bad we can't hook Ole Johnny up with a $10 an hour job
a zero savings account balance, a $750 a month rent payment, a clunker car...maybe child support for a couple of kids...and hey..let's give him Diabetes..

wonder what his opinions of health care would be then...

and that job? no health care benefits..

Go Johnny, Go!.. see how you love the system then:)

9. Another a'hole from GA. They're pissed because part of the bomber was built
in Marietta (outside ATL). What this has to do with healthcare, I couldn't guess.

14. We're not on the bottom of any listing. That's a lie.
Angola is at the bottom of the infant mortality list.

See? Everything is great. Yay us!

Except that Cuba actually has a better infant mortality rate.

17. it's ironic that the people who insist that the US is number 1 militarily
are perfectly comfortable being in the middle of the pack in education and health care. Where's the nationalistic foam finger now?

I can just hear the chants.

USA? USA? USA?

18. We have the best health care in the world for those with the funds to access it.
That is why the rich from other countries come here when they need expensive or rare treatment. But, for the vast majority of us and by almost every other measure, we are not the best, we are not in the top 10, and sometimes rank near the bottom of other advanced, post-industrial nations.

20. I don't doubt we have the best doctors, nurses and health care workers
in the world. But the sticking point is the insurance and pharmaceutical companies that either limit access or price it beyond the means of most people. If you can't afford the care or are shut out because of a pre-existing condition then the best of everything is useless to a citizen.

21. that's cause he has good health care
I'd seriously like to see health care taken away from all members of congress until reform is passed. That will shut them up immediately.

22. Exactly. If the miserable old coot sneezes he'll we whisked away
to ICU with round-the-clock nurses. Meanwhile, thousands die every year for lack of access.
