Kit Biond, you sad sack, lying, obfuscating motherfucker
"Obama's weak and stupid"

"Interrogators are honorable"

"Past administrations ought to be immune"

"We should have looked at Clinton but we didn't"

"Obama is a Banana Republic leader"

"We don't need show trials"

"Investigate us now and we WILL investigate you, later"

And then he calls the imprisoned scapegoats (Lynde England, et al) examples of how we deal legally witht hsie who go beyond guidelines.

Context: an interview with the weak, limp-wristed, ineffectual, probably complicit, Mrs. Greenspan on MSNBC's kablenooz show.

1. Good ol' Kit,
I see that with his impending retirement, he now feels free to hit the bottle much more freely than he usually does, and say any stupid thing that crosses the one or two cells that are left in his brain these days.

Thankfully, come 2010 we'll be free of him forever, and it looks like Robin Carnahan (daughter of Mel, the dead governor who beat out Ashcroft in 2000) will be our next Senator.

2. "Investigate us now and we WILL investigate you, later" That says it all for me.
That's a threat if I ever saw one. So I say investigate EVERYONE. Dems as well as every stinkin' Republican. Obama is breaking down walls, so he should just take the opportunity to clean up government. ALL OF IT.

Yes, some Dems will get caught up as well. Too bad for them. NO ONE should be immune. Americans are FED UP with waste, corruption, and lies from our elected representatives. I think the climate is just perfect right now to clean house. Let's reveal all the dirty deals. Expose all the corruption. I would say based on history, a lot more Republicans are going to get caught up in the house cleaning than Dems, but regardless of party let's just do it and get it over with.

Pieces of crap like Kit have had their say for too long now. It's time for a clean sweep. Open the doors and windows, get out the brooms, and sweep all the dirt and waste out the door. It's high time somebody does it, and I think Barack is just the guy.

F 'em all. Threats are so uncalled for. Any honest American would not want people who tortured others to be protected for those actions. America does not torture. It is one of the basic facts that defines our country.

9. If investigation, personal investigation, is about payback
what crimes did Bill Clinton commit?

Stated a separate way, what kept Democrats from investigating Bush policy while he was in office as a payback for Clinton?

They are going to lie, threaten, and steal all the more when they are watching Obama dismantle all these deals they've set up over the years. I want to know if Bond, Cheney or anyone else has manipulated or bribed any Democrats in a Jane Harmon like way. If that comes out in an investigation (quid pro quo or keeping the Democrat out of jail), I'd like to know how it works.

10. well said,Andy
Anyone who knew and did nothing is just as guilty. The ends in this case does not justify the means.

A new broom sweeps clean.....The most important letter after a Senator's name should be an A for American.

3. "Do you really mean to say that the Obama administration is a banana republic?"
Great question asked by Andrea Mitchell! It's clear that the Republican talking point is to compare Obama to a leader of a banana republic. Not only do they get to say that this is a partisan witch hunt, but there is enough of a racist overtone to the phrase that the Republican base will "get it" when they use those words.

5. The banana republic line is one of the red meat lines for their insane base
I think I have heard Limbaugh and Hannity use it. It has to do with how they're trying to paint Pres Obama as a crazed dictator who is making friends with other dictators.

4. Andrea really is horrible
And so is Chuck Todd, he was on Morning Joe and MSNBC all of today talking about the "political environment" at the time the torture memos were written, and about how there is no way an outside counsil will be approved because the trial would just be so lonnnnnng, and just sooooo political.

Kit Bond BS is a perfect example of what Republicans say about others is actually about themselves. The United states will be basically like a banana republic if we don't investigate torture not if we do. Bond has it exactly backwards. But what really got my goat was watching him, with a Joker like smile upon his face, threaten revenge if the investigations go any further. He is playing the fear card as usual. We need to remember what Gandi said "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. Obviously Bond is shitting his pants as the ball is starting to go down the hill pretty fast and we can all be assured he's as dirty as anyone.
