Should Ed Shultz tell Producers "Ditch this Orange and Red Flashing Set?
Edited on Thu Apr-23-09 05:36 PM by KoKo
along with the red counter top with white squares that are all very distracting? What about constantly jumping from Ed to the Set with the Flashing Graphics and introducing music from other era's?

Ed's Show has great guests. Over the years on his radio show on Air America he cultivated Congress ...having them appear and promote their bills and he really was "equal opportunity." His show now is able to get great guests from both parties...but it seems like a Carnival...and not serious compared to his radio show because the Orange and Red Graphics and Set distract from his guests and his producers don't seem to know how to position him.

Any one else notice this? I want his show to be a sucess..but there just so much "DISTRACTION" there that I can't watch it. On radio he comes across much better, imho...even if he sounds like Rush...we Dems should be able to make his TV show work better with some tweaks....

Anyway...I can't watch that show for more than 20 Minutes ...but tonight I watched longer to try to figure out what sucks to me about it...so I posted.

I wish him well...but he's gotta get rid of the Red & Orange, flashing and sound and figure out a format that fits between Matthews and Olbermann. But, maybe it's just my reaction and his numbers are up in ratings and other DU'ers think he's great.

3. too unsettling for me.
He might as well install some police sirens and cherry lights while he's at it. And yell through a megaphone.

7. Yes...in these hard times...who wants to watch anyone whose set is Unsettling..
You've made it clear. I get really jarred from trying to watch him because the distractions turn me off.

2. Ditch the revolving cameras too
the format is too distracting. I donno, I may be really old fashioned but what is wrong with a desk and chair, two chairs, three chairs...whats with this circus feel to the show. Flashing lights, fast moving camera angles. I get dizzy watching.

10. I thought the revolving cameras...
...were to find the best angle NOT to show the annoying up-and-down bars :)

4. Ed alone in a gray room would be loud enough.
Why do they think they have to add to it? Wolf Blitzer needs the bells and whistles, but Ed sure doesn't.

6. How about "Ditch the Right Wing Panel of Tools"?
We could really live without that.

9. I don't mind the color scheme.
But I don't like the colored bars constantly going up and down. That's a bit unnecessary.

They also should do away with the dice or whatever it is on his desk. I don't understand that either.

I'd say keep the overall color scheme, since it is unique. Just do away with the stupid sideshow stuff.

11. Send an email. Tell them the set is too unsettling for you. I usually listen
to Ed's show, but not "watch".

12. Aack! I didn't even notice as I was thrilled to see Ms. Flanders
on the show. :bounce:

I'm not sure what that says about me as I was zeroed in on her, but I'll be on the lookout for these distractions. :hi:
