Cheney: Waterboarding US Troops Is OK Because It Isn't Torture
Edited on Thu Apr-23-09 05:45 PM by stopbush
Same thing with sleep deprivation, being hung from a ceiling or being kept on an ice-cold floor.

If it's not torture to do it to an Iraqi or a terrorist, it's not torture to do it to GI Joe.

He didn't say that exactly, but that's the effect his position has on our troops.

3. Say, Darth, if you really believe that, then why not step up and volunteer for it?
Really.... Chris Hitchens did, and he survived. It was quite the reality check for him though. Maybe it would be for Cheney, especially if it shorted out his built-in defibrillator in the process.

4. Yeah - except people who make excuses for torture aren't exactly afraid
of being a hypocrite. So they would rant and rage about it happening to an American soldier. Never once seeing their own hypocrisy.

Though, frankly, I doubt Cheney cares who gets tortured. He just wants to have his own way....the dead and mangled bodies along the way don't much matter to him.

6. One thin I have noticed
Most of those who support torture, are the same chicken hawks that never have been in the military! Cheney had numerous deferments to get out of the draft during Vietnam, as did Rush. Bush had daddy pull strings for him to get into the guard. Many of those I talk with on conservative boards also have never been in the military. These people are idiots, and Cheney's opinion meands nothing at all, not coming from a lying sack of you know what like him!

8. To quote HIllary Clinton,
"You won't be surprised to know that I don't consider him (Cheney) a reliable source."
