Morning Joe is showing us some current talking points...
He has a WSJ guy on..
basically:

"There is too much going on and our enemies are paying too much attention for this. It will inevitably turn into a witch hunt. Why open a war on another front"

So it's "witch hunt, cvircus" & "tell our enemies all our secrets" rolled into one.

2. Joe, Joe, Joe
Edited on Fri Apr-24-09 05:52 AM by eShirl
Everyone knows by now that war criminals WILL eventually be brought to justice, no matter where on Earth they go nor how long it takes.

It's not so much like a witch hunt as it is like a Nazi hunt.

7. Yeah..
... lying about a blow job was a serious breach of the law that simply REQUIRED congressional action, but war crimes are no big deal.

10. I was screaming in my mind during the first few minutes of this
episode of MJ. I HAD to e-mail MSNBC again. I don't know why I bother. Right now Joe is saying "There are just some people who like to think they're morally superior...when in fact they are not". He says it is a common trait shared by Evangelists and liberals.....his friends on the left. Now Mika is chiming in saying the President is going to have to work through this and find the right way! I guess that means to her that no one should be held accountable. UNREAL!

22. No it was worse. It's liberal and evangelist PREACHERS. We are
like the preachers

Everyone keeps saying "The president changed his mind" or the president wants this or that. We did that too...outraged that he wouldn't investigate or prosecute.
Obama got to release the memos or not. He isn't an investigator or prosecutor. He can pardon people but otherwise his opinion is just opinion. He isn't in charge of the AG.

But that aside joe is a nasty man. He gives his opinion as truth, he ,akes up "facts" and "numbers".
He said after Gitmo scandal Pew poll showed 66% said we treated them just right or too easily. He's made up so many poll numbers that I knew about, like to see this one.

You said you had to e-mail. I use to do that. Sometimes he'd assert some "fact", some poll numbers and I'd assume he didn't know and I'd send correction with links. It eventually occurred to me he just liked making shit up.

I am happier when I don't watch, not sure why I watched today. Bad opinion is one thing, bad facts are another.

Also...Mika was so against torture before, use to fight joe on it. Now it's bad for Dems to do this?

12. These jerks need to name ONE secret that's been divulged
Good lord everybody already knows we've been waterboarding and worse.
What's the "big fat secret" ?

The breathless apologist bozos are on the wrong side of a very clear moral and legal issue
and they will do anything to squirm their way out of it.
Just shine more light on em and the truth will win.

But ugh it's ugly.

28. I thought Gregory brought up Clinton in response to someone else saying
bush didn't go back to investigate Clinton's failure regarding terror that led to 0/11.
When Gregory spoke he said that the 9/11 commission did go back to previous administration and looked at what Clinton did or didn't do. I didn't think he was trying to blame Clinton for anything, just pointing out that this wouldn't be the first time an investigation looked at past administration. Maybe he said more later that I didn't hear?

Gregory actually does a better job of being "moderate" now than in his cable show...in that he at least will bring up correct factual information more often than he use to in response to some talking point. I still thought he was bad and then I saw john king on CNN and I saw what bad was...so that moved Gregory up a notch in the rankings. I have no doubt Gregory leans right but he does a better job of "balance" than the horrid john king. I bet he will be disgusting Sunday. Gregory will just be mildly irritating.

30. I haven't seen spinning this furious since...the media were selling the bailouts!
Here we go again. The narrative is firmly in place. Bring your hopes down, people. Even Eugene Robinson - who wrote a strong column on "the rule of law" http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/04/23/AR2009042303717.html
- was reduced to shucking and jiving and backing down on the program. Sheesh.
