redundancy, as with HMOs--but the Social Darwinists say that's okay, as that would make death come earlier, both killing off the poor/inferior and accelerating the process of natural selection. hooray!
that's also where "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch" and "an armed society is a polite society" came from: Heinlein's The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress and Beyond This Horizon explicitly state that this would kill off the "sheep" and leave the "wolves," as "We do not have enough things to kill off the weak and the stupid these days, but to stay alive as an armed citizen a man has to be either quick with his wits or with his hands."
