Bill Maher: The GOP: divorced from reality
"Look, I get it, "real America." After an eight-year run of controlling the White House, Congress and the Supreme Court, this latest election has you feeling like a rejected husband. You've come home to find your things out on the front lawn -- or at least more things than you usually keep out on the front lawn. You're not ready to let go, but the country you love is moving on. And now you want to call it a whore and key its car.

That's what you are, the bitter divorced guy whose country has left him -- obsessing over it, haranguing it, blubbering one minute about how much you love it and vowing the next that if you cannot have it, nobody will.

But it's been almost 100 days, and your country is not coming back to you. She's found somebody new. And it's a black guy.
The healthy thing to do is to just get past it and learn to cherish the memories. You'll always have New Orleans and Abu Ghraib."

Lol.

12. The only problem is that
a significant number of Americans are also divorced from reality.

Never forget that 58,000,000 people voted to put Sarah Fucking Palin one 73-year-old heartbeat away from the presidency.

All I'm saying is we shouldn't get too smug. That thin margin between Palin and Obama could reverse itself in the blink of an eye, given the right propaganda.

They seem hell bent on proving his point over there. I really think there is a sea change going on in this country right now, the right gets crazier and more and more sane voters move away from them.I don't expect a great republican victory until they sweep the unhinged out of their party.

35. You also have to consider that we really can't veryify how many voters . . .
actually voted for McCain -- and I'm thinking that Obama probably had a much larger
win.

We've had electronic voting on computers with us since the late 1960's -- coincidentally

about the time we passed the Voting Rights Act!

And, these computers gave them the ability to steal larger and larger blocs of votes from

greater distances.

I think every Repug win is in question -- not just 2000 and 2004 -- but back to

Nixon/Humphrey!

Granted we've also had a lot of right-wing propaganda over decades which was largely

unresponded to by Democrats --

and corporate-media helping all of this along!

NO, it’s the L.A. Times that is divorced from reality, that refuses to accept the truth.

What would they define as a “healthy party”??? Perhaps one that supports abortion, flinging open the border, granting citizenship for the illegals, promotes gay marriage and kowtows to Obama and the socialists?

Nope, we don’t wanna be the “DemocratLite” Party!

We ARE the opposition, we ARE upset, and we WILL take back our country!

ENOUGH OF THE RINOS!!!
ENOUGH OF “REACHING ACROSS THE AISLE”!!!!
ENOUGH OF COMPROMISING OUR PRINCIPLES!!!!!

It’s time for REAL change, REAL conservatism and REAL leadership!

We conservatives haven’t lost our minds, on the contrary, we are thinking CLEARER than we ever have been before!

21. the delusional are loathe to give up their delusions
"We conservatives haven’t lost our minds, on the contrary, we are thinking CLEARER than we ever have been before!"

and that 'clear headed thinking' is what will forever divide your party and keep you from ever gaining power ever again.

If they don't like it, they are welcomed to move to another country--like russia or somewhere in eastern europe.

"The thing that you people out of power have to remember is that the people in power are not secretly plotting against you. They don't need to. They already beat you in public."

All dem soshalists and kommanists---aren't. They're just ordinary Americans who have come to their senses.
