A point that gets lost in the discussion of torture...
Yes, it's illegal, morally reprehensible, and all of BushCo is guilty as hell at the highest levels.

But while the MSM and many discussions here are focused on the "how's" and "what's" of the crimes, let's not lose sight of "WHY" -- It was all to garner FALSE statements to cause a WAR that's killed and wounded hundreds of thousands of people, both our troops, Iraqi fighters, and innocent civilians.

Remember all the photos that made us weep -- parents carrying the bodies of their children... That's a different sort of pain and torture, and it's the product of Bushco's torture of prisoners.

1. And so-called 'effectiveness' is no excuse.
ends do not justify the means.

3. It's not effective anyway.
The purpose is to get false information. That's how other countries have used it, as well.

2. I also think of the photos we weren't privy to, of soldiers coming
home in caskets. There was a method to their madness. Good point, Sparkly. We can't lose sight of all that's been lost, in our names, because of these thugs.

4. Yep. It was to get excuses for the war that they were intent on starting from Day One
All part of the plan before bush was SELECTED by the SCOTUS. All part of the reason bush WAS selected by the SCOTUS.

Clinton's stint in the WH just slowed their plan down for 8 years. THAT is the real reason the corporate controlled GOP was in such a tizzy over Clinton. He was a detour in their march to rob the Treasury and destroy the Bill of Rights.

5. Torture is not the only crime Bush committed.
1. Walter Reed outpatient treatment
2. Firing of US attorneys
3. Plamegate
4. Iraq: axis of evil, lack of preparation for occupation, looting, including the National Museum, too few troops, lack of training, lack of equipment, lack of securing loose Iraqi munitions, disbanding the Iraqi army, banning the Baathists, the CPA, cronyism, Paul Bremer, losing tons of money literally, lack of international inclusion in reconstruction and security, weak Constitution, formation of sectarian parties, weak government, denial of actual conditions in Iraq, for example, its civil war, ignoring 4 years of failed policies and the basic proposal of the Iraq Study Group to withdraw, escalating instead, continuing lack of any discernible mission.
5. Afghanistan, transferring resources to Iraq before the job was finished.
6. Civilian contractors; also no bid contracts
7.Hurricanes Rita and Katrina, the destruction of New Orleans, FEMA
8.Bush authorized warrantless NSA wiretapping in October 2001
9. Black prisons and extraordinary rendition to facilitate interrogation by torture
10. Cheney’s Energy Policy, Big Oil’s writing of it, and refusal to divulge that participation

There are too many to list here.

He should be in jail for life!
