Follow Up On I Popped a PUKES CORK.. Last Night thread

This is the follow up to the following link

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=5522502&mesg_id=5522502

Called Walmart security this morning and was asked to make an appointment for this afternoon so they could have a Police Officer there to take my statement and I could make a statement to Walmart as well. So I show up as scheduled and am taken to a breakroom in the back of the store and after about twenty minutes of questions by both the Officer and and the Manager of Security basic general questions about how I saw the event explode in to what it did....signed the statement and thanked them for the concern.. I was told that I was asked to leave for my own safety...I guess the guy spewed on for about five minutes ending with him taking a magazine and rolling it up and then smacking the security officer and an employee who was there to contain him until police showed up...I guess the employee took him down to the floor and held him there until the police came and cuffed him, read him his rights and questioned him and then took him down to the local station to fill out a fingerprint card and get a lovely photo and was released to his wife's custody.

The store apologized for the event and the Security manager then said something refreshing...she said that she voted for the torture administration both times and with what is coming out the Bush team should be prosecuted just on what has been released. She said she feels the sin of what has happened on her shoulders to a large degree and hopes those who were BUSH supporters feel likewise...She feels that President Obama is the right person in the office and believes that he will bring the BUSHIES to account...

I was told I could be talking to the DA as well soon if this goes further....Ill just keep the message alive in a mature and civil fashion..

1. Fascinating! That guy just went ballistic, didn't he..
I have the sneaking suspicion that this could be happening more often as things "move on".

15. It is, and we must be willing to still confront them
and even socially shame them

Risky?

Perhaps

Moral duty?

Yep

2. HOLY Cow!!!!
The Security Manager said that to you, unsolicited?

WOW!

The guy was nuts and he got nailed good and proper, which is encouraging. I'm really glad you went back. Good for you! And good for Walmart for doing the right thing.

That woman said that? That is just amazing.

I didn't check your profile - what part of the country are you in? (I'm looking for a trend among Bush supporters ...........)

In any event, congratulations!

4. How refreshing that teller at least admitted she made a
mistake in voting for Bush. Alot of people did. I see she is in the miniority of people who voted for Bush. It is unbelievable that fox news and the base will follow these idiot off the cliff even though they knew what they did was illegal. Enlisted soldiers went to jail for following orders yet those lawyers who knowingly broke the law go free. That isn't right and I hope the soldiers see what the hell is going on. They have been thrown under the bus.

23. I'm not sure if you are implying she's a minority that voted for Bush or
a minority that admits it was a mistake? I do happen to know a lot of people who did vote for the bastard, and have huge regrets. They do say they made a mistake, but thought that they were appropriate in not changing commanders in the middle of a war for the troops sake. In all reality, 2004 was just a year after the invasion. Had they realized all the horrors that would take place over the next 4 yrs, they wouldn't have voted for the man. That was the biggest reason for voting for Bush in 2004 that I have heard by those who are independent or moderate Republicans. AND I really think that all of these people would have supported impeachment, especially after the Katrina debacle. The reason it didn't happen is that M$M was in Bushie corner and Bush had/ has a lot of dirt on our representatives.. along with taking the justice department and filling it with loyalists. They feel that their country has been held hostage just as much as we do. They are just not as active or as informed. BUT they have seen the destruction of this country by their hands.. and they are not happy about it.

5. Outrageous! I just read your previous post.
Man, I don't read some posts because they seem like something that might be fairly trivial. Like winning an argument with a conservative. Well, that's not trivial. But you know.

My god, there really are some freaks in America. And you nailed one. But good!

Thanks for posting this. Not only for the beautiful followup, but for that very keen logic you used in the confrontation.

Oh brother...

6. Excellent
because you spoke up and the store handled the out of control asshole so appropriately, detaining him until you were safely away.

Now he's going to be up on a simple assault charge.

Unfortunately, there's a slim chance that he might blame you for his lousy behavior and try to act out. Most of these blowhards are total cowards, though and it's a very, very slim chance. Do be prepared for verbal threats. If they come over the telephone, Ma Bell can help.

I'm never too polite to tell these guys they're wrong, too. Since I project the sweet little old lady image while I'm doing it, they really don't know what to do about it besides turn ten shades of purple and stomp off.

22. This is one old lady
who is neither sweet nor little. But I have learned to drop the bifocals to bat the baby blues at them while they rant on, then just smile and shake my head as if to say, "oh, you poor little thing!" Only once (so far) have I had to mention that my cane has a hair trigger.

you will see that he was handcuffed, hauled off by the police and fingerprinted. Sounds like he was charged with something!

13. Interesting
Especially the part about the Security manager.

I think a lot of people who were on the fence during the 2000 and 2004 elections are now having genuine remorse about having voted for Bush.

And now, with the torture revelations, they're experiencing actual outrage that they could have been duped so easily.

I think it's a hopeful sign.

26. the dude just lost it
happy he didn't have a gun handy. who knows what his personal story is? it really just sounds like he just completely lost it there. i would love to know whether this is traceable to hate radio or if there are extenuating circumstances in his life going on right now that would put him on the edge. would just love to know the back story there.

was he an older guy?

If I was his wife, I'd be sleeping over at a friend's house.
