Bad parenting - blowtorching as punishment / forced tattooing
Dad blowtorches son’s buttocks as punishment

Two Michigan men are facing felony child abuse charges after they allegedly punished a 6-year-old relative by burning his buttocks with a blowtorch.

Gerald Hall, 36, and his brother, Glen Hall, 43, of Clare County were charged Wednesday after a lengthy investigation into the incident brought forth by the state Department of Human Services, the Morning Sun reported.

The men are accused of burning Gerald Hall’s son on the buttocks with a blowtorch on at least one occasion as a punishment. The extent of the boy’s injuries and what the boy was being punished for was not reported.

The boy has recovered physically and is currently in protective custody.

Police: Father Held Down Little Boy For Stomach Gang Tattoo

Posted: 9:29 AM Apr 23, 2009
Police in California are looking for a man accused of holding down his
7- year-old son while another man tattooed the child's belly with a street gang sign.

The boy's mother reported it to Fresno authorities on Tuesday.

Police say the father, 26-year-old Enrique Gonzalez, faces six charges including mayhem, child abuse, false imprisonment, battery, participating in a criminal street gang and committing a crime for the benefit of a gang.

Police have arrested a man they say was the tattoo artist. He faces similar charges.

1. Oh. That's illegal? Shit.
:yoiks:

Kidding. Obviously. They should face the same treatment.

2. If I was ever charged with anything, I'd want it to be "mayhem"...
...it just sounds cool.

3. I got reported to CPS once for putting a temporary tattoo on Jr.
Got threats from the ex "going to charge you for the time I had to take off work to go get it removed..." "you had NO right". Yeah, like I'm gonna hold down a 3 yr old and do an intricate teeny tiny dragon on his tummy.

To have someone actually do this is sick.

4. Those tattoos come off in a flash with warm olive oil! Your ex isn't too swift, eh?
I think they're funny as hell on little kids. I wish they had a few more of the real "Old School" tattoos available...you know, the Navy anchor, the Heart with "MOM"....all the classic sailor tattoos. Be funny as hell at military reunions!

I agree with you about the "sick" quotient. Burning and tattooing children? There's a place in hell for people who do that.

5. More like ready to over react to whatever could
Got reported another time when I refused to argue on the phone and hung up on ex. Apologetic police came to talk with me and Jr to make sure wasn't in danger due to my being drunk. Hey, why else would I hang up on an argumentative asshole? The cops were very nice, just doing what they had to do. Said they'd make a note so next call they'd talk to ex more.

6. Note.. people who make these false calls to cops don't get charged with making a false call.

7. This line really squicked me out:
"...what the boy was being punished for was not reported."

Like it matters? As if it would be less horrible if the kid did something really really bad?

I hope all these assholes get a serious fire-and-brimstone maximum-sentencing kind of judge...
