Obama may have been exposed to Swine Flu?
Edited on Sat Apr-25-09 11:18 PM by CoffeeCat
Look at the fifth paragraph in this Bloomberg News article that was released today (kind of a buried lede...don't you think?)...

"The first case was seen in Mexico on April 13. The outbreak coincided with the President Barack Obama’s trip to Mexico City on April 16. Obama was received at Mexico’s anthropology museum in Mexico City by Felipe Solis, a distinguished archaeologist who died the following day from symptoms similar to flu, Reforma newspaper reported. The newspaper didn’t confirm if Solis had swine flu or not."

Wouldn't they know *by now* if this dead archaeologist, who died the day after he met with President Obama--had Swine Flu???

2. ONLY if they sent samples
to the CDC... the mexican labs don't have yet the capacity to do this

That said, I can almost bet my sweet potatoes that given WHO he met, samples were sent

And I am willing to bet that not only has the PResident been under CAREFUL care by medics and doctors, but probably received the meds...

VIP medicine can and does get amusing by the by

3. Mexico has confirmed hundreds of cases of Swine Flu...
...haven't they? The news reports are confirming close to 100 deaths from the Swine Flu in Mexico.

So, the Mexican Labs seem to be confirming cases.

Or am I missing something?

4. Only AFTER CDC sent the genetic tracks
they sent 20 samples to CDC

In return they got the testing protocol

but you can bet Dr. Solis's sample was sent to Atlanta

You can also bet they will NEVER, ever, confirm it if this was the case

6. That's the point that I was trying to make...
...but I failed. It's too late to be awake! :)

I assumed that if this guy was exposed to our President, that the powers-that-be would know full well if
the guy died of Swine Flu. That answer would be crystal clear by now.

And isn't it interesting that the media couldn't get a confirm/deny on his Swine Flu test? I'd guess that if
it wasn't Swine Flu, we'd know. They'd be in a real hurry to confirm that.

It's just all very interesting...

8. KNowing a little about panic and all that, no, they'd not be in any
rush to confirm it

Personally I assume he was... and I also assume even if he didn't... he still gets the antivirals

17. Ok...you have your opinion...
...but this article is about the President visiting Mexico and being exposed to someone
who died of "flu-like symptoms".

So, you're suggesting that this is completely false information?

Bloomberg News, has always been above-board when it comes to news and information. I'm surprised to hear
someone suggest that they would make up events out of whole cloth.

As far as business news, I consider sources like CNBC and CNN to be scams. They're so in bed with the corporations,
it's obvious and pathetic.

Bloomberg has much more credibility in my opinion.

So Obama bumped into someone who later died with flu-like symptoms. Died OF what has not yet been determined, but Bloomberg's verbiage suggests (with plausible deniability) that it has, thus implying swine flu.

WTF are "flu-like symptoms" in a 65 year old man, anyway? I can name at least seven common causes of death that include "flu-like" co-morbidities at that age. Only one of them is the flu. Hell, I'm only 45 and my days are filled with several flu-like symptoms. It's a bullshit term, and shoddy journalism to use it.

Greater Mexico city has 21 Million people. Obama directly contacted (in a way that propagates the flu) at most 1000 people during his visit. At the height of the 1918 flu, 25% of the population got sick from the flu, and 3% of them died. Do the math.

22. In fact, Mexican press says Dr. Solis died Thursday 23rd,
Edited on Sun Apr-26-09 02:17 AM by Ghost Dog
so Bloomberg is wrong to say he died on Friday 17th (and would have taken very simple fact-checking - The Reforma headline says "Recibe a Obama; muere días después" - Meets Obama, dies (a few) days later - Search on "Felipe Solis" at Reforma's site: http://www.reforma.com/ ).

Not sure if there is anti-dote or some sort of vaccine, but regardeless...what a coincidence that the very guy that greets Obama dies the next day.

eta: Was the guy like 85 and showed absolutely no signs of anything at the time of the meeting, or was he relatively young and healthy then suddenly took ill?

Odds are if he had caught it, he'd be symptomatic by now. Incubation is 2-9 days. Today is day 10.
