(on CNN right now)

It will be bi-partisan and she wants 6-8 months for the intelligence committee to do their work and present their results.

She has seen the memos Cheney wants released but can't comment on them. She can't say if there are instances where "techniques of interrogation" gleaned valuable information. She wants the WH to wait on releasing any more info until the IC has this time to review all the documents.

Now Lieberman speaks - time to look forward, these are top secret documents and those who wrote them were doing what they thought was best. What do we gain from indicting lawyers for their opinion? It will poison the water and achieve nothing.

"Let the Intelligence Committee do it's work and let that be the end of it." - Lieberman

1. DiFi is under the thumb of the NeoCons and the MIC...
...because she was likely wiretapped (along with every other member of congress) saying things that would, if ever coming to light, ruin her political career.

Blackmail - it's what makes good Dems (seemingly) go bad.

12. If Pelosi were wiretapped/blackmailed, why didn't she give Harman the chairmanship?
Since your contention is all Democrats are just compromised puppets of the NeoCons.

4. I had to turn the channel.
The three of them were pissing me off. Graham also said releasing the memos lets the enemy know what's "coming their way". :eyes:

5. Who Cares What The Senate Thinks...
This matter belongs in the Justice Department...not in the legislative. We want real prosecutors and investigators working on this, not partisan politicians who are more interested in which way the wind is blowing than what is right or wrong.

Any real investigations out of the legislative will go on in the House...they've been at it longer. The Senate is a bystander in most of this. Their job should be to impeach Jay Bybee ASAP...and await further orders.

8. I think Feinstein and others on the committee will do their best to
keep a cool head and evaluate the data.

I know most of us believe Lieberman has a hawk's bias and therefore
creates mistrust.

If we are fair, many here would be guilty of bias in the other direction.

I believe most of us wish for a perception of fairness to be displayed
to the country. We have to convince Independents and rational rank and
file Republicans that the Democratic Party is being objective and fair--
not on a witch hunt. If we come across as conducting a witch hunt, our
findings or results will be no more respected than the RWers.

9. I understand your point. However -
that doesn't mean I trust Feinstein or anyone (R or D) sitting on the Senate Intelligence Committee to do the right thing. Their goal will be to cover the asses of their own.

11. LAWS WERE BROKEN!!! The only question remaining, imho, is
determining who broke which laws.

After that, it's fairly simple: indict, plead or try, acquit or convict, and sentence those found guilty.

Please explain to me how that is a "witch hunt."

10. So
Now these two are playing politics with a judicial matter?

If they had any honor they'd STFU. As it is, they must be in a CYA mode.

18. "Let the Intelligence Committee do it's work and let that be the end of it."
That is exactly what we don't want. An end to it without Justice......Why should an Intelligence Committee investigation amount to "an end to it" ?
