Pajama-Clad Toddlers Ransack Neighbor's Home
Boys Eat Snacks, Empty Drawers, Mess Up House

POSTED: 5:31 pm EDT April 24, 2009

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Two young brothers caused an uproar in Anderson Friday morning when they wandered away from their home and into a neighbor’s home.

Neighbors and public safety officers launched an intense search after John and Matthew Farrar disappeared from their home.

The boy’s mother called to report the 2- and 3-year-olds missing at about 9:45 a.m.

About 100 city and county emergency workers scrambled into the neighborhood to search for the boys. Little did they know that the toddlers were next door in the home of a sleeping neighbor, playing out their own version of Goldilocks gone bad.

Angie Lovorn was sound asleep on the other side of the house after working a third shift and said she had no idea the boys were in her house.

"I would have right away looked through my house if I’d known they were missing," Lovorn said.

But she didn’t know. And while she slept, the toddlers ransacked her cupboards, munching on Teddy Grahams, marshmallows and chips.

Lovorn finally awoke and saw the emergency workers outside her home at about the same time searchers spotted the boys coming out her back door.

I see nanny 911 from time to time through cable tv, not sure if I'm watching reruns or not.

4. I think they should be waived into adult court and prosecuted to the full extent
of the law.

If you don't nip stuff like this in the bud, there's no telling where it might end up.

With a start like this, they could easily turn into Republicans or Banksters.

5. One of our next door neighbors used to do that in our house.
She was a handful! And, we eventually worked it out and are still in touch after more than forty years.

14. I can sooooo see either of our boys doing this...
They're older now, but when they were younger they were known for finding any way they could to escape out of the house and then go beg for food at the neighbors' homes. We had to install locks high enough so they couldn't reach in order to keep them secure. They were freaking FAST--we lived way out in the woods in a small development and I was so afraid that one of them would get lost that we often made them wear bright colored shirts just so we could see them more easily.

This was a funny news piece...thanks for sharing it!

28. My oldest two boys were one year apart
They were excape artists! One time I had them in for a nap and checked and they were just climbing out the window! They said they wanted to play in the backyard, not sleep. I had already put the high up locks on so they couldn't use the doors...

36. Reminds me of an incident my parents told me about - "escape artists" indeed
.
.
.

I had a brother and sister, twins born 11 months to the day after I was.

We had a large back yard, overlooked by the kitchen windows where mother did the cooking and dishes.

We three, at the age of three and two(the twins) respectively, were playing in the back yard around a small wading pool and our sand box with just our "training shorts" on, being a nice summer day.

Mother went to do something elsewhere in the house for a few minutes, and when she returned to the kitchen window,

there were no kids in her backyard,

just three pair of shorts on the ground!

Frantic searching and calls to neighbors and Police were fruitless,

but a phone call from a friend of the family 45 minutes later to my mother asking her if the "kids" were missing said she just saw three naked kids walking hand in hand down the sidewalk in front of her house - - a little over a mile away

yup . . .

that was me and my younger brother and sister just having a good ole nude walk!

Wish I could actually remember it - - where were them cell-phone vidcams when ya needed them!

This was 1954

Thanks for the "nudge" to a blast from the past!

Fortunately the candy store lady called my mother, but I had to cross several downtown streets to get there. Don't really recall it except for getting caught.

Future fucking terrorists if you ask me.
And future right wing handjobs as well.

I say we nip this shit in the bud and teach these little pricks a lesson.
Come into MY house and eat my Teddy Grahams, you will get a taste of 'merican homeland defense.

:sarcasm:

Too funny.

Governor Sanford of South Carolina says no leniency for two year olds.
"We will prosecute them as adults" said Sanford before adding...
"We still don't want any stimulus money, unless our state is taken over by chip stealing toddlers"

18. My pet beagle did this once...
We were visiting my in-laws and the beagle disappeared. While looking in the back yard I see him in the neighbors house with his front feet on the stove eating bacon out of a pan! The back door was open, so I knock and say HELLO, etc, and no body's there. So I have to go in their house and get him out. He went to the naughty spot after that, I tell you wot!

20. the parents
of the toddlers are VERY lucky they stopped at the neighbor's house. toddlers can disappear in the blink of an eye. had it happen to my first son. he slipped out the front door while my back was turned for a minute and was found wandering down the sidewalk, just down the street. scared the bejesus out of me! i didn't ever let that happen again.

23. actually the neighbors was just a stopover, the toddlers were going out the backdoor when found
No telling where they eventually would have ended up. In Los Angeles, a woman's two toddlers wandered off while she was sleeping... ended up at the railroad tracks.... don't remember the details but I don't think there was a happy ending. of course, the woman sued the city.

30. Really. It's lucky if the worst these kids got out of their misadventure was a tummy ache.
It's all quite funny to read about now, but it could have been much worse.

How do kids make these kinds of escapes?
