Hate radio

My only choice for progressive talk is satellite radio. But it often goes off the air on Sundays. Last night when I got in my car, the left talk station was off so I turned to the right.

It's not like I haven't heard right wing talk before. And it's not like I don't know how hatefilled they are. But last night it struck me for some reason. I didn't catch the guy's name but he was definitely a hater. Obama is a socialist, he is taking the country in the wrong direction, he ignored the "enormous" outcry from the teabaggers (you know that "grassroots swell of voices" LOL).

He was taking calls from other haters. The most interesting one was a guy who said they needed to mobilize the GOP and be ready for the 2010 elections. And the host said no, the media will make sure Obama will win a second term in 2012 and the Democrats will hold on to Congress too. Another caller talked about reframing the image of the party and making people proud to be republicans again. Yet again the host said no, the media will prevent any work done to repair the GOP image by focusing on what's bad about being a republican.

It's like they WANT to lose, they seem to thrive on being the underdog and complaining about the top dog. In a way that is sort of encouraging but it's also sad. Wouldn't we be better off with two (or more) viable parties and far less hate?

I guess they would just rather hate. If it wasn't damaging all of us, I could enjoy it more.

They want the Democrats to "clean" it up again, and moan constantly and decry our ethics, morality, very existence, and come back in and start all over again. How many times have we had to clean up their mess. I have lost track myself.

Pretty fucked up that a market as big as San Diego has zero liberal radio - lots and lots of RW idiots to choose from though.

Obama is way far from being a "socialist" - I wish the RW idiots would get the lingo correct... I am a socialist (in a lot of ways) and Obama misses the mark by a mile.

I sure as hell have never accused the RW media of being accurate. I know people who watch Fox and listen to Rush and they believe every word these people say... It is a form of insanity and denial.

Anyhow, last night it really got to me. I was sick to my stomach by the time I got home.

6. The closest I get

to hearing the RW is Joe Scab on MSNBC - I watch it every morning --- I do this because I really honestly want to know what these pinheads are worrying themselves crazy over... Morning Joe is Joe Torture. He loves him some waterboarding even though he is certain that it is really called enhanced interrogation. He has talked about the beauty of torture for a couple of weeks - His pal Pat Pukehannen are a clusterfuck of torture cheerleaders.

10. There is one thing to remember

when listening to commercial radio................ ratings!
the savvy host will just about say/do anything to get people to tune in, thereby justifying the rates they get from advertisers.
Most of the time, it's really all about the money and that type of prgramming seems to draw lots of listeners.
