When is it ever time to panic? I mean, wash your hands,
maybe buy an extra bottle of ibuprofen, some ginger ale and some easy to cook meals, but what else are you going to do? Either you and your family get sick or you stay well.
2. Well, it's never time to panic, but influenza is airborne--not just
a matter of frequent hand-washing. That's why it becomes pandemic. Those people coughing and hacking in the restaurant booth or bus seat behind you--how do you stop breathing their nasty germs?
not to "take the bus" when you use it to commute to work  that said, the train i took to work today was very sparsely populated, even for a monday.
5. You avoid public places like restaurants and busses.
Easier said than done, but that's the best way to avoid getting the flu. Stay away from people. I'm told wearing a mask helps but then people look at you like you're trying to be like Michael Jackson or somebody. I heard most of the masks being used are too porous to help much anyway.
