"Scarborough: ‘Rational fear’ justifies torture" LINK
Edited on Mon Apr-27-09 04:03 PM by Blackhatjack
Scarborough demonstrates that MSNBC must believe he still reaches the disillusioned, disconnected rightwing Republican 'true believers' base. Amazing.

Scarborough: ‘Rational fear’ justifies torture

"In debating the use of torture on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, co-host Mika Brzezinski expressed a concern that “fear and reality will overtake morality.” However, host Joe Scarborough did not see that as a problem and seemed to believe it was completely appropriate for what he called “rational fear” to far outweigh morality."

3. Main problem with fringe-right on security: they're terrified little cowards.
As reflected in all our terrified little cowardly security policies of the last eight years.

5. Fear that trumps rule of law is NEVER rational
and fear, rational or not, never justifies crimes against humanity.

7. Hey Joe
The Germans in the 1930's & 40's had a fear of Jewish people, was the resulting genocide excusable in your twisted mind too?

9. So, what's a "rational" fear, Joe?
Like, you wet yourself, but you don't poop your pants? Or you're so scared you have a doctor who's had his license revoked perform a private autopsy, rather than trusting to the county's medical examiner for a body that mysteriously turns up dead in your office?

Tell us, please, Mr. Scarborough, just how badly you have to be scared and still count yourself rational enough to strap someone down and start pouring the water or connecting the alligator clips.

10. So Joe & his ilk are absolutely fine with American soldiers being TORTURED
by our enemies, who most certainly have at least "rational fear" of our troops.

I hope ALL our troops are aware of this republic party belief.

12. There's a good case to be made that those 4 Blackwater guys were killed
because of the torture at Abu Ghraib that had gone on for a year already before the insurgency broke out. It could have just as easily been four soldiers.

13. And the rightwingnuts wanted to "glass parking lot" Iraq for that incident.
Actually, that's why 911 happened in the first place. It's not only what we would have done, it's what we have done and are doing. Again and again and again.

But being absolutely totally completely unable to see beyond their own noses, the rightwingery hasn't realized that yet.

You can believe "when we (Americans) do it, it's ok" all ya like...but it just isn't true.

15. Last night I read a comment here about "shitty banana republics
in South America" and all I could think of was the people who died fighting them and how they never had a chance while our tax dollars were behind them.

No, it's not true.

11. I'll bet Joe tortured cats and dogs when he was a child.
Same as Bush blowing up frogs with M-80s. Joe is a total neocon hack and has been all along.

14. They why do they arrest murderers who kill
eye witnesses? They only torture and kill their victims because of fear.
