1. The Supreme Court won't hear it. They will let the MN Supreme Court
ruling hold. No worries.

3. I agree. If he takes the case to the SC
they'll turn it away.

4. Problem is they already said they won't hear it
So it will stop, for practical reasons, at the MN SC... unless the Supremes change their minds

9. Repukes have full control of 4 SCOTUS justices
it's just a matter of getting that 5th one to drink the Kool-aid, which he has in the past

6. I agree that the SCOTUS will not hear this case.
There's no federal issue involved. The State of Minnesota has a very detailed election procedure, which includes full judicial review. If the SCOTUS granted certiorari on this case, I'd be very, very surprised.

Unlike the 2000 Presidential race, the only votes that affect this Senate race are within Minnesota, and that state's process is being followed, and to the letter.

Those here on DU who are wailing and gnashing their teeth have to understand that there is no option but to follow Minnesota law. If that law is not followed, then the SCOTUS would have reason to grant cert.

Frustating? Yes. Necessary? Also yes. The closeness of the race forced the issue.

8. Some legal experts believe that Pawlenty will have to certify
Franken once the Minnesota SC weighs in. Of course Coleman at that point could try to get relief from the USSC, but I haven't read anything but opinions that the Supreme Court would refuse to hear the case.
