Our greedy US corporations sent all of their manufacturing to the far east and thus trained them on how to create these knock-offs. When you lay down with dogs....

Chinese government is not just looking the other way, they are encouraging the IP piracy. All of the corporations that think they will profit from the Chinese mrkets will in the end lose their shirts. Once they have taught them how to make all of the products the Chinese will no longer need these companies. China has no intentions of reducing the trade deficit. And your theory of how we will pay the debt will only lead to run away inflation over here and a decrease in our ability to buy products from other countries.

Our greedy companies cannot win an economic battle with China. China doesn't need anything they have to offer. China only continues to do business with them because the trade has been profitable for China. Once China no longer comes out ahead when trading with us they will simply close down the operations, produce their own goods using the assets provided by US companies and then say "what are you going to do about it?". It wouldn't surprise me if China doesn't eventually nationalize these corporate assets and tell these companies to go home. China needs absolutely NOTHING we have.
