Here's hoping the Repubs come down HARD on Specter with extra viciousness....

... because we are going to need that to push Specter to vote more along the line of Democrats.

Maybe they will trash him left and right, which would make it easier for him to vote for cloture in the Senate even if he does not vote for the Democratic position on important votes. That would mean that Repubs would need a 'crossover' Democrat to filibuster.

And if they do, it should further split off more of the Repub base as it continues to 'sanitize' membership in the Party by moving further right on the political spectrum.
