3. he's an opportunistic little prick
and his behavior over the years has often been repulsive- think Anita Hill. Think more recently his attempt to block Obama's appointments.

5. That he is... but now he's OUR opportunistic little prick.
And the whole thing must be driving the Republicans nuts. That's what I like about it. Arlen Sphincter is an ass, kind of a Joe Lieberman. But I do enjoy the fury of the Republicans.

4. not a good look
Why is it so easy to jump ship like this?
I mean how can you just dump all your principles and beliefs just like that?
Knowing this why would the Democratic party welcome him with open arms?
I hope this does not become a trend

8. It's easy if you have no principles in the first place.
Sphincter has figured out that his chances of being re-elected are better on the Dem side. He''s kind of a Lieberman. Norm Coleman did the same thing in Minnesota about 10 years ago.

9. All true but he threw
a major spanner in the Rushican works.
Specter is almost eighty and not particularly healthy, so who knows if he'll be around next year this time.
