Michelle Malkin, a person of color who hates people of color
from AlterNet:

Michelle Malkin and Michael Savage Use Swine Flu Crisis to Peddle Their Xenophobia

By Joshua Holland, AlterNet. Posted April 29, 2009.

The right-wing pundits who seized on the swine flu to push their anti-immigrant rhetoric are employing an ancient racist tactic.

In the middle of the 14th century, the plague swept across Europe, leaving death and despair in its wake. A terrified and confused population blamed the Jews -- aliens in their midst -- for bringing the "black death" upon them.

Lacking knowledge of viruses or other microscopic organisms, they accused the Jews, a handy target, of poisoning the wells of Christian villages. The charge contributed to a series of pogroms in which thousands were burned alive.

During the more than 600 years since, our understanding of disease transmission has advanced by leaps and bounds, but the same primitive tribalism that inspired the lethal xenophobia that raged across Europe then remains on display today.

With hundreds of cases of swine flu reported in Mexico, and dozens more appearing in the U.S., anti-immigrant hard-liners wasted no time blaming their one-size-fits-all bogeyman for the disease.

They took to the airwaves and scribbled hastily on their blogs about how America's supposed "open-door policy" towards migrants from Mexico was the cause of the outbreak's appearance on this side of the Rio Grande. .........(more)

9. although she's of Filipino origin, I don't believe the "conservatives" of the time
would have cared for the facts of her lineage as they raped her and stole her home and life's work ...

4. The 14th century was their ideal time
No science, no human rights, no middle class, laws made for the privileged few, etc.

Ironically, Savage, a Jew and Malkin, an asian, would have been the first to be lynched in those Christian villages.

6. You know, as bad as racists are, the worst type of
racist is a minority person is is racist against minorities.

Does Malkin not realize that had she been around during WWII she might have been confused for a Japanese American and gotten some of the angry backlash from Whites? What does she see when she looks in the mirror? A blonde, white girl?

Nothing about racists annoys me more than a very ethnic looking minority person spewing racist hatred around.

She is a piece of shit.

8. agreed...and they always duck that angle
im an immigrant's child. it's sad to see that many immigrants do end up following the political parties that tend to 'fly the flag' in the most vulgar way. they happily line up with immigrant-hating as a mechanism of self-protection, and the writers that follow that path like malkin (see all the ponuru, dsouza, jindal, yoos) always seem to have a guaranteed visible position.

most of our pundit class that isnt first generation immigrant seems to be either conservative, or that type of phony middle-ground position (zakaria, eliasson) that denigrates the left more than it criticizes the right.

12. Agreed, but we're not dealing with those millions in this post......
..... We've dealt with them in plenty of others. I get your point, but that doesn't give Michelle Malkin a pass.
