Olbermann presses Hannity on his waterboard offer
By DAVID BAUDER – 13 hours ago

NEW YORK (AP) — The debate over torture is getting personal for two of cable TV's prime-time hosts. After Fox News Channel's Sean Hannity made a seemingly impromptu offer last week to undergo waterboarding as a benefit for charity, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann leapt at it. He offered $1,000 to the families of U.S. troops for every second Hannity withstood the technique.

Olbermann repeated the offer on Monday's show and said in an interview Tuesday that he's heard no response. He said he'll continue to pursue it.

"I don't think he has the courage to even respond to this — let alone do it," Olbermann said.

Fox News Channel representatives did not respond to requests for comment.

Let's up the Ante on this one! If we got more people willing to donate to a great cause (to benefit the families of US Troops) then perhaps we can finally get Sean Hannity willing to be waterboarded (hey Christopher Hitchens did it for a Vanity Fair article).

I don't have the kind of money that Olbermann has but I would be willing to donate $10/second if Hannity allows himself to be waterboarded.

Who else is willing to chip in for Keith Olbermann's cause?

1. I'm willing, but let's make it for every minute instead of second.

7. I'm 100% certain he won't make it past 15 seconds, much less a minute.
That is, of course, if the asshat even makes good on his promise. Which he most likely won't.

3. When is someone going to bring it up to Hannity?
Heck, we've already had a couple discussions around this here, and there's even a Facebook group with a bunch of people willing to chip in. Keith is keeping a running count of days since he made the "offer" (i.e. put his foot in his mouth) but no one seems to be tracking Hannity around, sticking a microphone in his face at every opportunity and saying "Well?" News cycles are so rapid these days that something will take the focus away any day now...you know, someone will fly a plane low over NYC, somebody will switch parties, etc.

5. There's a Facebook group for this: Waterboard Sean Hannity for Charity

I generally think FB is pretty dopey, but approve this use. ;-) Some of the comments are hilarious.

6. I'd rather donate to Marcy Wheeler (aka Emptywheel)...
more bang for the buck.

Over at Firedoglake they're having a fund drive to support her investigative reporting. She's FANTASTIC and worth more than a few seconds of Hannity waterboarding

...not that there's anything wrong with waterboarding Hannity.
