Right Wing Media Parasites Are Killing Their Host - The GOP
Jay Diamond has written an excellent piece observing the corrosive and life sucking effects of right wing media hate mongers on the Grand Old Party. As I have always suspected, it will ultimately be the right wing that takes Limbaugh out. I believe that soon the power elite that controls the GOP will come to the same conclusion - Limbaugh and Hannity are literally killing their party. My bet is that Rush's rumored sexual deviancy will be exposed by his friends as a way to remove Boss Limbaugh's greasy grasp on power within the conservative movement.

"The relationship of low-brow talk radio and the GOP is not a symbiotic one, but a parasitic one, with the parasite being low-brow gargoyles like the relentlessly smear-mongering Hannity, and the devoured host being the GOP.

This is true because if 4 out of 100 people listen to Limbaugh et al., then Limbaugh etc., are heroes, because a "4 share" in talk radio land is considered to be a major success. And there will always be at least 4 or 5 out of every hundred people who have the consciousness of a scarecrow, so talk radio will be fine and coarsely immoral vipers such as Hannity...AND HIS SPONSORS...will make money by corroding the civil comity and the standard of living of the rest of us.

But for the GOP it is a different story. Because The Party of Talk Radio, i.e., the host to the parasitical radio scumlords, needs a lot more than 4% of the population to survive, let alone prosper. But the low-brow talk radio ghouls will, ironically, continue to stoke the dangerously inflammatory coals of intense political hatred because it makes for a "hot show"; notwithstanding that by stoking the viral hate of the lovely GOP base, it has eroded that base down to its poison core by chasing any sane American out of the thick reduction of slime in the GOP nucleus that low-brow talk radio ginned up in the first place.

So, as long as the Party of Talk Radio continues to be defined by scumlords like Hannity to depend on talk radio to populate its Palin rallies and Tea Bag cotillions, it will continue to be "purified" down to its most concentrated "base" while Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh, etc., drive to the bank...the Swiss bank."

Here is the rest...

2. They say that like it is a bad thing.
It is, like the rise of militarist nationalism and totalitarianism in Eastern Europe, a consequence of bottom feeding for votes to win.

Of course, it led to two world wars, and genocide, but hey, Goebbels had incredible share.
Will the wide stance party melt before it explodes, that is the real question.

4. I completely agree with this opinion and I have posted about it here a couple of times.
If you listen to Rush and Hannity on even just an irregular basis, you will notice that the quality of the intelligence of their callers has gone way way down. For a start, they are working with the 23-26% inflexibly, invincibly, implacably Obama disliking, Bush apologizing, war loving, and immigrant hating minority of the general population. Then they get the smallest, most ardent subset of that subset.

Since these types of hosts have to ignore reality and fact based discussion, the people who enjoy listening to them have to be similarly data challenged which they are, since they rely on these same hosts as their major news and commentary source, possibly supplemented with the propaganda PAC that is Fox News.

You really should try to listen to one of these shows every once in a while. Remember, these listeners are so pliable many of them went out to protest high taxes for the wealthy even though they themselves had just received major tax breaks. They denounced Obama as a "Facist" or a "Socialist" even though they cannot define the terms.

Now, consider that these media personalities are the putative "leaders" of the party. They winnowed the pack and are left with only the rabid ones. The drooling and the snarling has scared everyone else away.

5. Same thing with O'Reilly
Sure he (reportedly) gets 3 million viewers, but that is just under 1% of the US population.

6. I have never.... ever...
voted for a Repub.

But...

This ain't healthy. The rightwingnuts forming a small party to the extreme right, that is. The Dems represent the corporations and the military/industrial complex and the lobbyists more than enough already.

Moderate Repubs, and even "liberal" Repubs may flock to the Dems.

Any move toward the "center" by the Dems isn't good, IMHO.

7. kick! I like to think this OP is true. Especially the part about Rush's eventual downfall.
As much as he is lording it over the Republican Party, I bet he is making some bigtime enemies.
